The Weight of Glory

A compilation of various essays and addresses by C. S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory offers several concise and stimulating discussions of topics ranging from our immortal souls to forgiveness.

One of the most intriguing essays to me was ‘Learning in War–Time’ which covers the justification for spending any time acquiring knowledge when weightier matters, such as a war or the struggle for our neighbors’ souls, stand before us. As a serious college student with many years of learning before me, it’s reassuring to know that God supports such paths.

If learning doesn’t excite you, Lewis also treats multiple other issues with his characteristic skill of mind and word. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who enjoys significant thoughts.

P.S. It also features excellent typography, making it a joy to peruse and absorb.
